5-19 years healthy child programme and immunisations and vaccinations programme (previously known as the Health and Wellbeing Service) - starting well nurses
This service used to be called School Nursing. Starting Well Nurses are Specialist Public Health Practitioners who have expertise in child development and family health.
All children and young people aged 5-19 years or up to 25 years special education needs (SEND) have a Starting Well Nurse. They used to be called School Nurses but we no longer call them that as they now work with anyone up to 19 years.
The team have lots of specialist experience in working with young people to promote health, wellbeing and good lifestyle choices.
For more information about services provided for secondary school age young people (11-16) please visit the Starting Well website.
