Find a recycling centre

HWRC Consultation

We are asking for people’s views on proposals to better manage the recycling and disposal of waste at Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs, also known as “tips”) across the borough.

You can find out more and respond to the consultation via our consultation page.

All feedback received will be used to help shape the proposals for the future HWRC service. The closing date for responses is Sunday 1 September 2024.

Recycling centre summer opening times start from 1 April to 30 September. Winter opening times start from 1 October to 31 March.

Proof of residency

  • residents must accompany their waste to the recycling centre, regardless of who is transporting it
  • hired or unmarked vans may need to provide proof of residency before being granted permission to use the site
  • residents will be required to provide proof of residency on request (this should be in the form of a utility bill, bank statement or drivers licence)

Important information

It is vital that site users understand what is expected of them and what standard of service they can receive in return. More information on our procedures can be found on our code of conduct page.

Please be aware that access to the recycling sites may be restricted if you are unable to provide proof of residency.

Individual Recycling centres

Opening times and what we accept for each recycling centre differ. Please view your nearest centres page to find more information:
