Changes to disposal of Waste Upholstered Domestic seating (WUDs)
From 6 January 2025 this site will not be accepting Waste Upholstered Domestic seating (WUDs) including sofas, armchairs, upholstered dining chairs and beanbags.
These items often contain Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs). Pops are chemical substances often used as fire retardants which need to be handled and disposed of in a special way to ensure they are not released into the environment and prevent contamination of other waste
These items require a separate designated skip. Due to limited space, we will no longer be able to accept these items at this site
Waste upholstered domestic seating will be accepted at Chester, Ellesmere Port and Winsford recycling centres.
