Direct Payments
How do Direct Payments work
Direct payments allow you to receive money for your Personal Budget directly, giving you more control over your care.
Payments are made every four weeks, and you must use a separate account for this money, paying in your assessed contribution as well (you may wish to set up a Direct Debit to pay your contribution in to make things easier)
Receiving the Money
You can get the money in one of these ways:
Pre-Payment Card | Bank Account | Managed Bank Account |
---|---|---|
This is like a bank card, which we will upload with money. You can use it online or in person to pay for services. Further information can be found at: Prepayment cards |
You can have the money paid into a separate bank account used only for your care payments. |
An approved bank can manage the account for you, but you stay in control of your care. |
We will make a regular checks to ensure that the money is being used for the purpose intended. Further information can be found on our Direct payment audits page.
