A shopping centre you want to visit
Get involved in creating a better space to visit, shop and catch up with friends.
Winsford Cross Shopping Centre needs investment and has done for some time.
Back in February this year, the Council managed to buy the centre from its private owner, and made a promise that its fall into disrepair would stop, and that local people would play a major role in its future.
Work underway
Work has already begun to improve the buildings. Teams have made repairs to the roof and windows to make sure that the centre stays in a good condition whilst the plans for its future are made.
The businesses that already serve the people of Winsford and town centre shoppers will play an important role in how the area is gradually developed and transformed.
We have appointed Montagu Evans, internationally renowned specialists, to help create the right solution for businesses and shoppers. Montagu Evans will help us to acquire land, improve the infrastructure and unlock development opportunities to create a revitalised town centre.
How you can get involved
In the coming months, we will be seeking your views and ideas for how we can improve the town centre, including the war memorial. Please keep an eye out online and in the town centre for opportunities to have your say and take part in the discussion.
You can help shape how the town centre will look and have the chance to work with our lead artist, Cath Campbell. Together, the Council and local people can create an attractive and vibrant space. Cath will be working with residents to bring the town’s heritage alive.
