Keep warm and well this winter
Welcoming spaces
We're working with a number of Council services, Council-owned organisations and local community groups to offer residents in the borough access to Welcoming Spaces this winter.
These spaces are free for residents of all ages to use during their stated opening times and provide a space where people can socialise and stay warm.
Details of all venues taking part in the scheme are included on Warm Welcome Campaign website.
Libraries
Library staff and volunteers will provide a friendly welcome to residents who wish to make use of the library space. Residents visiting the Welcoming Spaces can enjoy refreshments and also make use of the library services if they wish.
- Take part in regular events and activities that are taking place in the library
- Join the library for free and take advantage of the wide range of books, eBooks, eAudiobooks and eMagazines
- Free access to WiFi and public computers
Some Welcoming Spaces in the libraries will be open all day and some for shorter periods. Details of opening times can be found on individual library pages.
Expanding the network
Working with Cheshire West Voluntary Action, Cheshire Community Action and the wider voluntary and community sector, the Council is exploring opportunities to expand the network, and provide services to support people using the Welcoming Spaces.
Get in touch if you work for an organisation that would like to get involved by emailing climatechange@cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk.
