There may be a possibility of attending college on a part time course if you are an EHE student, although places are limited.
- Chester College - courses start in September of Year 10 or 11 and last for one year
- Reaseheath College - courses start in September of Year 10 and are part time for two-years
- The Manchester College - for English and Mathematics qualifications
You can find some EHE groups below who provide support and arrange events. These are not direct recommendations.
The Department for Education also publishes EHE guidance for parents and local authorities.
- BBC Learning has free resources for primary and secondary school children.
- Channel 4 Learning has free online resources for those who teach primary and secondary age children.
- A little bit of structure is a blog by home educating parents for home educating parents.
- SEN Teacher provides free printable resources for those who teach children and young people with special educational needs.
- Primary Resources provides free lesson plans, activity ideas and resources in a number of subject areas for primary school children.
- The British Council’s Learn English Kids provides free online games, songs, stories and activities for children to have fun and learn English too.

If your child has an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP), you can visit the Cheshire West Local Offer page.
You can also contact the Information Advice and Support Service (IASS) if you feel there may be additional needs.

Online safety at home packs are available to use at home. These include fun activities, conversation starters and practical tips on topics such as:
- Sharing images
- Live streaming
- Cyber security (developed in partnership with the National Cyber Security Centre)
- CEOP Education (thinkuknow.co.uk)
- CEOP Education’s website - financially motivated sexual extortion. On the website you can download the alert and a template letter for parents and carers with advice on how to talk to their child about financially motivated sexual extortion, and how to support them if they become a victim.
The online safety toolkits contain short activities that you can use with children in your education setting.
Public Health England’s (PHE) new Better Health – Every Mind Matters campaign provides NHS-endorsed tips and advice to look after children and young people’s mental wellbeing.
The advice available on the Better Health - Every Mind Matters website is designed to help parents spot the signs that children may be struggling and show how they can support them.
It also provides tools to help young people build resilience and equips them to look after their mental wellbeing.
School Aged Immunisation Service
We now have a dedicated School Aged Immunisation Service section that families and young pupils can gain further information from. This also includes some short webinars.
The 0-19 Starting Well Service is delivered by a range of healthcare professionals with lots of specialist experience in working with children and young people. Our healthcare professionals work with children and young people to promote health and wellbeing and support making good lifestyle choices.
You may have met the team when you had your vision, hearing and weight checked during primary school years. We are based in Starting Well Children’s Centres.
Services offered
- immunisations to protect you from illnesses such as flu and other vaccine preventable diseases
- drop in sessions in high school where you can speak to the nurse about anything worrying you
- text support and advice (ChatHealth)
We can also support and offer advice about a range of issues, which may include:
- exam stress
- self harm
- low mood and depression
- experiencing bullying
- healthy relationships
- sexual health
- school/college life
- body image
- anxiety
- general stress
- diet
- exercising
- moving to secondary school/college
ChatHealth
ChatHealth is a confidential text service, which is a safe and easy way for you to chat to a nurse. Just send a message, you don’t have to give your name.
A nurse will reply to you within 24 hours between 9am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday (except bank holidays).
