Elective home education
Overview
Elective Home Education (EHE) is when a parent or carer decides to educate their child at home.
Parents and Carers have a legal duty to ensure that their child is included in appropriate full-time education. The majority of children and young people in Cheshire West and Chester attend one of their local schools but we respect that, for a number of different reasons, some people decide to educate their children at home.
Electing to educate your child at home is a major responsibility for you and your family. You will be solely responsible for all aspects of your child’s education and there will be many factors to consider.
