Discounts and exemptions

Cheshire West and Chester Care Leavers who are liable for council tax are entitled to a 100% discretionary reduction on their council tax charge up until they turn 25 years old.

The Care Leavers Council Tax allowance is not applicable where other residents are liable for Council Tax at the address. The Care Leaver must be the person who is liable in accordance with the council tax regulations.

If you are moving into the borough from another authority you should apply for council tax support. You may also be eligible for further support from the vacating local authority.
