People across the country and the Commonwealth are invited to celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort over a weekend of special events.
On Saturday 6 May, The Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort will take place at Westminster Abbey in London.
On Sunday 7 May, residents are encouraged to celebrate the Coronation by organising Big Lunches in their communities.
Monday 8 May will be a day dedicated to good causes and aims to bring communities together throughout the UK over the Coronation Bank Holiday weekend.

Preparations are underway in west Cheshire to mark this special and historic event. Partners and local communities are coming together to host various events:
Coronation Community Fund
To help communities celebrate the occasion, each ward member had a budget of £500 to be allocated to support the celebrations and activities in their own ward and/or the wider borough. The fund closed in March 2023 and activities will take place throughout the Coronation year.
