Brexit and West Cheshire
Overview
On 23 June 2016 a majority of people within the United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union following a nationwide referendum. Nationally 51.9 per cent of voters opted to leave the EU, and 48.9 per cent voted to remain.
In Cheshire West and Chester, the result was 50.7 per cent voting to leave, and 49.3 per cent voting to remain, with 193,537 votes cost across the borough.

This decision to leave the European Union will impact upon a number of industries in the borough, and will also affect residents across west Cheshire. Cheshire West and Chester Council is keen to be proactive in addressing the potential impact of Brexit.
