Standardised School Year consultation
This consultation has now closed.
Thank you to everyone who took part in the consultation.
The findings were discussed by Cabinet in July 2023 and a decision was made to amend the standardised school year which will take effect from the start of the academic year 2024/2025.
Background
Cheshire West and Chester Council is undertaking a borough wide consultation to vary the current standardised school year. The feedback received will assist in determining principles used to set school term dates.
We want to make sure the standardised school year meets family's and school's needs and would like to hear your views. We are particularly interested to hear from parents and carers who have children in education in the borough, as well as all school staff.

A report will be submitted to Cabinet in July, detailing the outcomes of the consultation. Cabinet will consider the consultation outcomes and take a decision on whether to adopt the proposal. The consultation findings and the outcome of any decisions taken will be made available on the Council's website.
