Energy Companies Obligation scheme (ECO4) Grant Store Privacy Notice
This privacy notice explains how personal information is collected, processed, who it will be shared with and for how long it will be stored before being securely destroyed.
The services covered within this privacy notice
We have appointed Grant Store to deliver energy efficiency measures including loft and wall insulation, clean-heat technology and renewable technology such as solar panels, to eligible Cheshire West households.
This privacy notice covers the installation of energy efficient upgrades provided via the national Energy Companies Obligation (ECO). Eligible residents will be offered a variety of energy efficient measures depending upon the outcome of a property survey. Residents eligible to receive measures will benefit from improved energy efficiency and lower bills, improved health and wellbeing and reduced carbon emissions.
What personal information we collect
We only collect and use the minimum amount of personal information required when delivering a service to you.
The service may use some or all of your personal information, such as:
- your name, address and contact details
- household income data
- benefits data
- fuel debt data
- health data
- the IP address that you accessed any of our online services from
We get most of this information from you, but we may also get some of this data from:
- Grant Store and their contractors
- Energy companies who are providing the funding
- The Office of Gas and Electricity Markets (Ofgem) who administer the scheme
Why we collect information about you
We use your information to:
- deliver the service, or handle your query
- plan and improve the services we offer
- detect and prevent crime or fraud
- for research, however this would be in anonymised form unless we ask for your consent to use your personal information for this purpose
- evidence positive outcomes to central government funding agencies
- assess your eligibility to the scheme
- verify the eligibility of your property
- handle your query

When we have to share your information, we will only do so where it is necessary or required by law.

- Grant Store and their contractors
- Energy companies who are providing the funding
- The Office of Gas and Electricity Markets (Ofgem) who administer the scheme

The lawful basis for the processing
Most of the personal information we collect is provided to us by you, under Article 6 of the UK GDPR we rely on the following:-

When we collect data that is classed as special category data, under Article 9 of the UK GDPR we rely on the following:-

Protecting your information
Your information will be securely stored on our network.
How long we keep your information for
We will only use your personal information whilst delivering the service to you and to deal with any questions or complaints that we may receive about this unless the law requires us to keep it for a longer period. In practice, this means that your information will be kept for seven years then deleted.
If we need to use your information for research or reports, your information will be anonymised and any information taken from notes (hand written or typed) during any consultation sessions will be securely destroyed. The information will continue to be used in a summarised and anonymised form in any research reports or papers that are published. The anonymised information in the papers may be of historic interest and may be held in public archives indefinitely
Will my data be transferred abroad?
No.
