Park and Ride
Cheshire West and Chester Council operates four Park and Ride sites around the City at Boughton Heath (off the A41 Whitchurch Road - nearest postcode CH3 5QD), Sealand Road (on the A548 opposite the car dealerships - nearest postcode CH1 4LD), Upton (Zoo - nearest postcode CH2 4BA) and Wrexham Road (off the A483 opposite Chester Business Park - nearest postcode CH4 9DQ). Please note, postcodes are the nearest approximate postcodes for location purposes, as these sites are not postal addresses.
These are served by two limited stop cross-city services:
Blue Line service PR1
Green Line service PR2
Buses are operated on our behalf by Stagecoach. New buses were introduced in 2016 and feature comfortable leather seats, free 4g wi-fi, an Air Chill system to keep you cool in the summer and all are wheelchair friendly. An over height area is available at each site for motor homes and oversized vehicles.
Times of operation
- Monday to Friday: every 12 minutes between 7am and 7pm
- Saturdays: every 12 minutes between 8am and 7pm
- Sundays and Bank Holidays: every 15 minutes between 9.30am and 6pm
Free travel every Wednesday after 2pm

For free travel on the Park and Ride during these times, please use the pay station machines and select the free travel ticket. The machine will issue the ticket and you will not need to pay. Present and scan your ticket on board the bus in the usual manner

Chester Park and Ride services now operate through the new Bus Interchange in Chester city centre. For your return journey, Blue Line route PR1 picks up at stand D for Wrexham Road and stand E for Upton (Zoo). Green Line route PR2 picks up at stand D for journeys to Boughton Heath and stand E for journeys to Sealand Road.
In addition, when the new Bus Interchange is not a convenient drop off/pick up point, buses also drop off/pick up at various locations in the city centre - all of these stops are well used by customers. Details of exact drop off/pick up points can be found in the maps above.
