Bus service improvement plan for cheshire west and chester

Bus Service Improvement Plan funding has enabled us to boost some of the bus services in the borough. We have increased some frequencies, introduced evening services and reacted to the commercial market whereby some services could be withdrawn.

Passengers can take advantage of capped fares on these services with an adult single journey costing £2 and a young person (up to and including 18 years old) costing just £1.

Service N3 – Northwich – Mount Pleasant – Moulton

A new bus service has been introduced in the Northwich area. The N3 restores links between Northwich town centre, the Mount Pleasant area of Davenham and Moulton village. This service which will also serve Kingsmead and will operate hourly from 10am to 2pm on Mondays to Fridays. The service is operated by Warrington’s Own Buses.

Service 7 – Chester – Broughton – Vicars Cross

Improved frequency from hourly to half hourly. Mondays to Saturdays and is operated by Stagecoach.

Service 26 – Ellesmere Port – Guilden Sutton - Chester

This service now operates on Saturdays by Stagecoach.

Service 40 – Chester Railway Station – Chester City Centre

Extended operational hours and additional journeys now operate from 7am to 7pm Mondays to Saturdays, rather than 9am to 5pm. The service is operated by Aintree Coachline.

Service 41 – Chester to Tattenhall

The 6.45pm journey Chester to Tattenhall reinstated following timetable cancellation Mondays to Saturdays, operated by Aintree Coachline.

Service 49 – Weaverham – Northwich - Rudheath

Improved frequency from hourly to half hourly Mondays to Saturdays, operated by D&G Bus.

Service 82 – Northwich to Chester

The Saturday journeys on this service are now supported by the Council and operated by D&G Bus.

Service 23 – Neston to Ellesmere Port

The service has been renumbered from 272 and continues to operate the same timetable by Aintree Coachline.

Service 2 – Chester – Ellesmere Port via Hope Farm / Service 16 Chester – Saltney via Handbridge

Additional evening journeys will operate, Service 2 is Mondays to Saturdays / Service 16 will be Mondays to Fridays.

Service 37 – Northwich – Winsford – Middlewich – Sandbach

Evenings services will be provided between Northwich and Sandbach Mondays to Saturdays in partnership with Cheshire East Council and operated by D&G Bus. This service will also replace the Nightlife Express service X31 journeys.

Service 51 – Chester – Plas Newton / 53 Chester – Kingsway

Evening journeys will be provided on Fridays and Saturdays, operated by Stagecoach.
