Electric Vehicles
Electric Vehicle Strategy
We know that the availability of public charge point infrastructure is a real barrier holding people back from transitioning to an electric vehicle. Thus, we have developed a strategy which sets out a forecast of the scale of anticipated demand for charge points over the next few years and the actions the council and partners can take to support the roll-out of this new infrastructure.
We are in the process of supporting residents to charge their EV in the local area, through the planned rollout of the Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure scheme which should start to see EV chargers being installed from late 2024 / early 2025. CW&C Council are currently monitoring and assessing tests being carried out at locations across the UK on a range of cross-pavement charging solutions.
We are supporting residents to reduce their carbon footprint. We are interested to receive enquiries from residents who are currently driving an electric vehicle (EV), or are considering acquiring one, and who are lacking off-street charging opportunities.
