After submitting your application
Once you have submitted and paid for your application, it will be allocated to one of our surveyors. If you have submitted plans, our surveyor will check them thoroughly to make sure that the designer’s proposals comply with the latest Building Regulations.
We will then send your designer an approval certificate for the plans which they should pass on to you. The approval certificate may also have conditions attached to it, you should make sure that you provide your builder with a copy of these conditions before the work begins.
When you are ready to start work you will need to notify us. If you have already informed us and you want to book an inspection you will need to request an inspection using our form.
What happens when I have completed my project?
When all inspections have taken place and our surveyors are satisfied that your project is compliant with Building Regulations you will receive a completion certificate.
It is important to realise that the completion certificate isn't a guarantee or warranty that your building work complies with the Building Regulations. The certificate is an important document and should be kept safe. If you ever sell your property it will be required by the purchaser’s solicitor.
