The noise app
What does the noise app do
The app is free, you can make audio recordings of the noise (up to 30 seconds). You can also enter details about the nature of the disturbance. This can then be easily shared with us to support your complaint. The audio clips are unlikely to be sufficient on their own to determine if the noise is a statutory nuisance. However, they can be very helpful in deciding your priority level and helping your complaint progress quickly. The app is available on Android or iOS:
Terms and conditions
Before using the app you must read the terms and conditions and agree to them.
More information about how we manage your personal data can be found on our privacy notice.
How do you submit a noise report
When submitting a report for the first time, you will be prompted to manually confirm your location details. You will only be required to do this once unless you're using the App to report noise at a different location. The GPS location feature on the phone will validate the address entered as the recording location. If GPS location is not enabled you will be given the option before you submit your report to activate the GPS location.
- If you do not enable GPS location your reports will be flagged on the Noise App database as recording location not validated. You will be made aware of this.
- If you are submitting several reports from the same location eg. home, you will not have to re-enter the address data after the first instance.
