Rilshaw Meadows
Rilshaw Meadows and the Flash have been used by the inhabitants of Winsford for over 100 years for recreational pursuits.
The site is made up of four main landscape/ habitat types: a woodland, a grassland area, hedgerow and the margins of the flash.
Across the flash from Rilshaw Meadows off Weaver Street is Ways Green. This linear woodland site provides access to the farm land at the edge of the flash beyond the built-up edge of Winsford. The farm land is accessed over a musical stile which was made by children at a local school.
Location
The site can be accessed either from the A54 from Middlewich just before Winsford gyratory or by turning off the A54 along Station Road and then turning into Rilshaw Lane.
Accessibility
There are facilities for wheelchair users including disabled fishing pegs. However, users may need to be accompanied if parked off Rilshaw Lane as there is a considerable slope to and from the car park.
