Status of current encampments

Below is a list of unauthorised encampments in the Cheshire and Warrington area. These are shown by Council area.

Each unauthorised encampment is given a name based on where it was first reported. The exact location of the encampment may be somewhere nearby. Similarly, there may be a slightly different number of caravans reported when the group first arrive. There is a procedure for dealing with encampments and the information is updated as this progresses. If you have checked the list below and want to tell us about a new encampment, please use our reporting form.

Cheshire West and Chester

Sealand Road Park and Ride, Chester

  • Current status: Section 77 notice served
  • Notes: Council-owned land; 5 caravans

Ellesmere Port Train Station, Ellesmere Port

  • Arrived: 17 February 2025
  • Current status: BTP to attend
  • Notes: Privately-owned land; 3 caravans

  • Arrived: 16 February 2025
  • Current status: Landowner is aware
  • Notes: Privately-owned land; 1 caravans

Westminster Car Park, Ellesmere Port

  • Current status: Group have left the location
  • Notes: Council-owned land; 2 caravans
