Careleavers who are parents
Personal Advisers offer advice, support and links with parenting services, the Family Nurse Partnership and Comma Schemes. Personal Advisers can offer support and advocacy for care leaver parents at Core Group meetings and conferences.
They can facilitate home start, family support, children’s centre referrals and specialist accommodation for mother and babies (for those eligible).
Support in pregnancy
If you are pregnant and aged 16 to 17-years-old, we will provide you with a maternity grant of £100. Your Social Worker will also support you to claim a Maternity Grant from the Department of Work and Pensions, if you are eligible for one, to enable you to buy essential things in preparation for when the baby is born.
