Technology Enabled Care

Technology Enabled Care (which can also be referred to as TEC, Assistive Technology or Telecare) is a service which enables people to remain safe and independent in their own home. It is a less restrictive means of support and support people to remain at home for longer.

Technology Enabled Care can also support Carers with support and assurance when they are caring for their loved ones.

Examples of technology include (but is not limited to):

  • Specialist apps to support those with autism and learning disabilities
  • Falls sensors and personal pendants
  • Room sensors
  • Epilepsy watches
  • Medication dispensers
  • Routine prompts and aids devices
  • Household technologies to enable those living with a memory impairment to avoid situations of risk

Further information

The technology installed is linked to an Alarm Receiving Centre, which is staffed 24 hours a day, all year round. The Alarm Receiving Centre provides support and a point of contact remotely, which can offer reassurance to residents/ Carers during times of emergency.

Prices for sourcing Technology Enabled Care through our provider will be subject to a financial assessment.

Accessing Technology Enabled Care through our provider will be subject to a Care Act Assessment and a financial assessment.
