Energy rebate for households in Council Tax bands A-D
Please note: applications for the energy rebate scheme have now been closed.
You will have received a letter from us if you qualify for the energy rebate. You can apply for this rebate if you are the person registered as liable for Council Tax as of 1 April 2022 and meet the following qualifying criteria:
- the property you live in is in Council Tax bands A to D (or band E with a disabled band reduction)
- the property is occupied as someone's sole or main residence
Council Tax properties where an exemption applies will only qualify where occupants are all students (Class N), all occupants are aged under 18 (Class S), all occupants are severely mentally impaired (Class U) or where an annexe is occupied by elderly or disabled relatives (Class W).
Please do not try to use this application form to apply for a discretionary energy rebate if your property is in bands E to H unless you are in band E and in receipt of a disabled reduction. Details of how to claim the discretionary rebate will be published in due course.
Please note: any property that, as at 1 April 2022, is unoccupied, classed as a second home, or is a house in multiple occupation (HMO), or where the liable party for paying the Council Tax is an organisation, business or government body, will not be eligible for the £150 energy rebate.
