Council Tax refunds

If you have received a bill which shows that you are in credit we can issue you with a refund. This usually happens if you have a change in circumstances or move properties.

The credit will show at the bottom of the bill, if you have been paying by Direct Debit, we will refund automatically into the bank account the payments were made from and this will show on the bill.

Authority is required for refunds to be paid to someone not named on the Council Tax Account i.e. where a company, executor or representative is requesting the refund.

What happens next?

Your refund will be processed within 10 working days. We will be in touch if we need any more information.
