Food vouchers
Pensioner households not entitled to Winter Fuel payments this year, but known to be on low incomes and in receipt of Council Tax Support and/or Housing Benefit, will receive £200 from the Council through the Government’s Household Support Fund.
These households have already been identified and contacted and payments are in the process of being issued to those that have responded.
As part of the household support fund, we'll be allocating the equivalent of £17.50 per week for every pupil who receives free school meals. This extra financial support ensures children have food during the school holiday periods.
You do not need to apply for the school holiday food vouchers, as schools across Cheshire West and Chester will provide the vouchers to eligible families before each of the following school holiday periods:
2024/25 school holiday food vouchers
- October half term break - £15
- December Christmas break - £20 for each of the two weeks
- February 2025 half term break - £15
