Rivacre Road Bridge after the vehicle strike
Repairs to the Rivacre Road Bridge on the B5132 in Ellesmere Port will begin on Monday 20 January, with a road closure in place.
The bridge previously suffered from damage caused by a vehicle strike in December 2024 and a full road closure is needed, at each side of the bridge itself, for these essential works to take place safely.
The work is expected to take around eight days.
The Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Environment, Strategic Transport and Highways, Cllr Karen Shore said:
The closure is required in order to repair the brickwork parapet that was damaged by last year’s incident. I’d like to thank road users for their patience while we safeguard this busy route.
