We are saddened by the incident which happened at your traditional Christmas markets, especially whilst friends and families were out enjoying the festive season.
Here in Chester, we have our own Christmas markets and I can not begin to comprehend what happened.
As a neighbouring city and a friend, Chester stands with your city in the sad and dark days and months ahead.
Can we pass on our thanks and gratitude to your emergency services for their swift response and actions.
Our sincere condolences and thoughts are with the victims’ families and those who were injured. We wish them a full and speedy recovery.
