Little Lions Go Wild at the Lion Salt Works
The Little Lions has been running for a few years at Cheshire's award-winning Lion Salt Works Museum in Northwich, one of Britain's foremost industrial heritage sites.
The 'Little Lions Go Wild' sessions have been planned and developed by the Museum's trained staff to encourage children to explore and think actively about how the local landscape changes during the seasons and how this affects the plants and animals living there.
This programme mixes sensory and nature-inspired craft activities with imaginative and fun stories and song. This Autumn, the Little Lions will be exploring the delightful Butterfly Garden and will be making some autumnal crafts, singing songs and telling stories.
Parents/carers will also have an opportunity to meet up with other adults in a welcoming and interesting environment and younger siblings are welcomed too.
'Little Lions Go Wild' will continue to run whatever the weather and everyone is advised to bring waterproof clothing and footwear. There is free parking on site, a playground and the museum's café and shop.
Little Lions runs on Fridays, term time only: 10am to 11.30am £2 per child. Suitable for 2- to 4-year-olds, younger siblings welcome. For more information, please call 01606 275066.

Little Lions Go Wild is a very low-cost opportunity for young families to learn about nature in a heritage environment. The Museum's staff are passionate about engaging children and creating a fun, informal and relaxed atmosphere for active learning. But they also want to create a place for parents and carers to connect and have a good time. There is free parking, a well-stocked shop and a bright café, now serving a range of cakes and savouries baked on site, many created with Little Lions in mind.
The Lion Salt Works Museum in Ollershaw Lane, Northwich is one of the foremost industrial heritage sites in the UK. It is one of the last open-pan, salt-making sites in the World and is a Scheduled Ancient Monument. It tells the story of salt through fun, interactive displays and has won ten awards since opening in June 2015.
The Lion Salt Works is open Tuesday to Sunday, 10.30am to 5pm (last admission at 4pm).
