Green doctors offer energy efficiency advice

January 1, 2020

The Green Doctor energy efficiency advisory service provides support, information and advice for residents to make their homes more energy efficient, helping them save money on their bills and reduce the amount of energy they use to run their home.

The scheme is available across Cheshire, Warrington and Halton, with one of three Green Doctors visiting eligible households to provide bespoke advice and support, ranging from energy efficiency tips to switching supplier and signposting for loft and cavity wall insulation, and boiler replacement.

As part of the visit some free, small measures are also provided such as LED light bulbs, radiator foils, draught-proofing and hot water tank jackets.

Tina from Ellesmere Port, who recently used the service, said: "I had my eyes opened during the visit from Alison, the Green Doctor. She let me know about all sorts of tips on saving energy and lowering my energy costs.

"I was so pleased with the service I received and would recommend to anyone. Alison was really informative and fitted free measures for me including replacing my bulbs to LED's and fitting radiator foils to the back of radiators to help me keep warm."

You are eligible for a Green Doctor visit if you either own your own home or privately rent your home and you are:

  • in receipt of an income or disability related benefit
