Cheshire West and Chester Council are pleased to announce that a further £3.6 million of UK Shared Prosperity Funding (UKSPF) has been awarded to support project activity in 2025-26.
The current UKSPF Programme is due to end on 31 March 2025. This “Transition Year” of funding, will allow the Council to extend some projects that are working hard to improve the lives of our most vulnerable residents and communities, support businesses to thrive for a further 12 months, as well as provide funding to help people access the skills they need to find employment or re-engage with education.
I am pleased to welcome additional Government funding of £3.6 million which will support residents, businesses and community groups. UKSPF funding has never matched the EU funding it replaced, and it is always tough to balance limited resources with our ambitions, but this funding will have a positive impact on communities across our borough. The strength of our programme is in our partners, who deliver great things with UKSPF funding that have lasting impact. Thank you to all of them - I am looking to forward to seeing how this additional funding further supports our economy and promotes opportunities for all throughout Cheshire West.
