Cheshire West and Chester Council has been officially recognised as a Gold Investor in People, following its recent assessment by Investors in People (IIP). This achievement places the Council among an elite group, as:

One of only eight local authorities in the country to hold this prestigious accreditation.

Having previously attained Silver status in 2018, the Council has since demonstrated outstanding commitment to developing its workforce, despite significant changes and challenges over recent years. The IIP assessment involved feedback from over 1,500 employees, including direct conversations with more than 150 staff members and survey responses from over 1,200.

The assessment highlighted a consistently positive workplace culture, with employees praising:

  • A strong understanding of the Council’s values and priorities
  • A culture of transparency, co-production, and support
  • Leaders who empower staff to make a real difference
