Cheshire West and Chester Council recognised as Gold Investor in People

Following its recent Investors In People (IIP) assessment, Cheshire West and Chester Council has been recognised as a Gold Investor in People.  

IIP introduced accreditation levels in 2016, and the Council has held the Silver level award since 2018. This was a significant achievement in itself.  However,  the organisation is now one of only seven Councils in the country to hold an award at this level.

Over the last three years, the Council has experienced considerable changes which have impacted on the entire workforce.

The IIP assessor spoke to more than 150 people who work for the Council and evaluated responses to a recent online survey completed by over 1200 members of staff. 

These highlighted a wide range of consistently positive comments, including an understanding of the organisation's values and priorities; a broad culture of transparency, co-production and support and leaders who empower their staff to make a difference.  

The Council is proud of this status and will continue to listen to feedback from its workforce. A new People and Culture strategy will soon be launched and shared with colleagues.
