Reporting accidents

All serious accidents, and any which result in incapacity from work for more than seven days must be reported to the enforcing authority. All reported accidents are assessed to understand the circumstances of the accident so a recurrence can be prevented.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) are responsible for enforcing health and safety legislation in factories, transport, agriculture and other large industries.
