Chester Rows and City Centre buildings
Chester is an ancient city whose story can be traced back to Roman times. The whole of the city centre has been designated as a Conservation Area to protect its character and appearance. The city has also been identified as an Area of Archaeological Importance to protect its archaeological remains.
Many buildings are also statutorily listed to further protect their character.

The Cheshire Historic Environment Record and the online mapping system identifies the status of a building and whether it is statutorily protected.
