Alexa

You can now ask your Alexa device for information provided by Cheshire West and Chester Council. To do this you will need to enable our skill in your Alexa app. 

How to enable our skill

To enable our skill on your smart device please see our Amazon Alexa page. 

Alternatively, follow the simple four step process to enable and launch.

Step one

First you will need to open your Alexa app on your smart device and click on the more option at the bottom right of the screen.

Step two

You will then need to click on the skills and games option. From here you will be able to search for Cheshire West and Chester Council.

Step three

Once you have selected Cheshire West and Chester, press the launch button and this will tie the skill to your Alexa account allowing it to be accessible from your linked devices. 

Permissions

Step four

The skill will ask for your location and name permissions. This is needed for the skill to work fully and is used to determine address information for the waste and location information provided by the skill.

You will need your full residential address setup on your device, for example "1 High Street" as the Street Address, "Chester" as the Town/City and "CH1 2HQ" as the Postcode.

Using the skill

Once you have enabled our skill you can say 'Alexa open My Council' to open the skill. 

Once you have said this Alexa will respond that the skill has now started and you can ask a question for example:
